Los Angeles nearly went up in flames! I'm not kidding, the outrage was palpable. "At night sometimes it seemed you could hear the whole damn city crying."

For a couple of weeks, letters of complaint poured into the Los Angeles Times Sports Section. It seems to me now that 4 of every 5 Letters To The Editor were complaints about the changed Dodger Dog.

By week 3, the city was on the verge of exploding in a riot of Rodney King proportions. Next thing one knew: The Dodger organization was happy to announce that the new concessions company was bringing back the grilled Dodger Dog - IMMEDIATELY!

Now, if only people cared as much about bad government as they do about bad hot dogs...

Anyway, that's a true story and it still makes me laugh. I have never seen so many people in agreement about any one thing as the Angelenos were about restoring the traditional grilled Dodger Dogs to Dodger Stadium.

My friend Pooh and I have attended a couple of games at Fenway Park (Boston), and although this was well into my vegetarian years, Pooh told me that the Fenway Frank couldn't begin to stack up with the Dodger Dog. I take his word for it.

As far as this World Series goes: With San FranCrisco now up 3 games to 1, it appears all but over (I can hear the fat lady warming up her voice); it will go down as the most disappointing World Series for me. And if/when 'Crisco takes game 4, it will be the saddest day... EVER! (And consider that I'm really not even much of a baseball fan anymore. Think how I'd be feeling if I still cared about the game!)

~ Stephen McBummedoutStephen T. See-you trashed the Phillie Frank ...McDodger Dogg-

See-you trashed the Phillie Frank and ya jinxed yerself.

San Fran takes another game.

Quite frankly (pun intended) I have to be at death's door to eat any form of hot dog, so I doubt even if I ever went to a Dodger's game I'd try the dog.

But I'll bet the last time I at a Phillies Frank, Carter was still in office.DiscConnectedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07013919800637508392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-557564794535751440.post-69018986372862284512010-10-31T10:00:19.477-07:002010-10-31T10:00:19.477-07:00DISCDUDE ~
