.
Several weeks back, during the Christmas season, my brother Napoleon mentioned how I had once made a reference in a Blog Bit to the Bumpus Hounds from the movie 'A Christmas Story.' He remembered that he had found the reference humorous and asked me where it was. I too recalled making a remark about those famous dogs but I couldn't recall in which Blog Bit I'd placed it.
So, I did a Google search hoping to find it for Nappy but my search was unsuccessful. Well, for some completely inexplicable reason, I woke up this morning with a mind determined to find that Bumpus Hounds reference. I went to Google again, did an 'Advanced Search' and found it quicker than you can say "Uhp! Yer an idiot!"
Naturally, I read the entire post which, as it turned out, was written just before Thanksgiving in 2008. I then read the next Blog Bit as well, and thought to myself: Hey, you! Those weren't too bad. Kinda funny in a sick, disturbed, twisted, tongue-in-cheek, Black Comedy sort of way.
I noticed that these two posts seemed to have gone pretty unnoticed (notice how I've used the word "notice" four times in this one sentence? Think you can do that?) Then I checked and noticed that I hadn't included either of these two Blog Bits in my year-end "STUFFS' Greatest Hits" compilation page. So, I've decided to post links to them here; a little look back at some overlooked stuffs that looked like they were worth another look (that's the word "look" five - count 'em, 5 - times in one sentence! Looks like I'm improving.)
So, anyway, here are links to a couple of old installments that some of ya newer readers might enjoy. What sick, disturbed, twisted, tongue-in-cheek, Black Comedy-lovin' Tiny Tim fan wouldn't?

“There's a sadness in the heart of things,” said the second Z-man. The first Z-man added, “It's life, and life only.” The Wizard warned, “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!” But then I dreamed the answer and I told it to them: “We have fallen asleep in God's embrace, having a nightmare that we are elsewhere.” So, now you understand what this Blog’s "stuffs" is all about.
I have to admit, the Nabisco letter is priceless! So are the "Dorian" comments and replies! Your take on yourself reminds me of a blogging friend from India-"Rumuser". Hmm, another drinker! lol
ReplyDeleteAhhh! Judy, thank you so much! I'm really glad to know you enjoyed it. I sometimes wonder if I'm really just writing for an audience of one wacko. Namely, "Me."
ReplyDeleteI'll confess that I tend to overplay that whole "boozing" angle. But you know how it is - when a person finds a shtick that works for them, they shtick with it.
But there's another version of me out there in Blogland? Oh, pity the world! "Rumuser", eh? Hmmm... Sounds like a gin drinker. If you'll post a link or address to his Blog I'll check it out.
And thanks again for your kind comment!

Here's Ramana's address. He's from India, and just like you, as far as I know, he doesn't drink either. I gave your blog site a mention on my post today, hope you don't mind!
ReplyDeleteJudy ~
ReplyDeleteYou hope I don't mind? Are you kidding? Dang! That's an A-List Compliment. Thanks so much! (I left a comment on your Blog - hope it goes through.)
I have only one minor complaint: WHERE'S Ramana's address? What is this? Did you post Ramana's address in the same sort of way that Ramana and I don't drink?

Ooops! I's not sure who received Ramana's address! lol Here it is!

Thanks, Judy!
ReplyDeleteI checked out Ramana's Blog, and I can definitely see how you made that mental connection. I do indeed see some similar personality traits between Ramana and myself. He seems to be quite a bit like me. I don't like him.
;o)
THANKS!
